Mid-Atlantic is the local Association for USA Track & Field (USATF) which is
the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking
in the United States. USATF encompasses the world's oldest organized sports, the
most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the #1 high school and junior high school
participatory sport and more than 30 million adult runners in the United States.
Mid-Atlantic USATF serves the State of Pennsylvania east of and including Potter,
Clinton, Centre, Huntingdon, and Bedford counties and the State of Delaware.
USA Track & Field, both locally and nationally, is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit
organization divided into 58 local Associations. Mid-Atlantic USATF is led by current
President Ed Callahan of Hockessin, DE. The mission of USATF is to provide vision and
leadership to the sport of track and field in the United States and to promote the
pursuit of excellence from youth to masters, from grass roots to the Olympic Games.
The Mid-Atlantic Association serves the USATF membership in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Mid-Atlantic USATF is managed by an 11 member Executive Committee that meets quarterly
to help chart the goals and direction of the organization. Mid-Atlantic USATF is
supported by the National USA Track & Field in their Membership, Sanctioning and
Programming efforts.
